Summer Go!ympics - Catch the Thrill of the Olympics with Free Live Sports Broadcasts and Demos by Hong Kong's Top Athletes

With the highly anticipated Paris 2024 Olympics just around the corner, Central Market is thrilled to partner with TVB to bring the excitement of live Olympics broadcasts to the heart of the city. From 27 July to 12 August, a large screen in the G/F OASIS will allow visitors to watch free live highlights, cheering on Hong Kong's athletes as they compete on the global stage. To further enhance the Olympics experience, Central Market will collaborate with Swire Coca-Cola to provide complimentary bottles of Aquarius® to CCG Hearts members on weekends (27-28 July, 3-4 and 10-11 August), enabling them to replenish electrolytes while supporting their favourite Olympians – and even earn 500 CCG Hearts points by redeeming the used plastic bottles at designated recycling machines.

The excitement doesn't stop there. Central Market will also invite elite Hong Kong athletes to showcase their skills and inspire the city's competitive spirit:

  1. On 29 July (Mon), renowned former Olympic fencer Antonio Lam will share his expert insights and techniques with the Hong Kong fencing team, providing live demonstrations and commentary, with the aim to deepen the public’s understanding of this exciting sport.

  2. On 3 August (Sat), the Hong Kong China American Football League (HKAFL) will organise an interactive American football experience, where participants can learn fundamental skills like passing, catching, and flag pulling under the guidance of experienced HKAFL coaches.

  3. On 4 August (Sun), Central Market will partner with Genius Skate Management Limited to invite the Hong Kong ice hockey team's star coach, Mach, to host an interactive ice sports activity, showcasing the basics of the sport and allowing the public to experience “national team level training.

  4. From 11 August (Sun), Central Market will host boxing activities in collaboration with the International Sport Kickboxing Association (ISKA), featuring target practice, sparring, and Muay Thai showcases, with opportunities for the audience to experience the thrill of contact sports.

“Hong Kong Tramways 120th Anniversary Pop-up Store - A Celebration of a Local Icon

Hong Kong Tramways is celebrating its 120th anniversary this year as one of the city's most iconic modes of transportation. In a first-of-its-kind collaboration, the renowned tramway system has partnered with beloved local cartoon character McDull to host a series of events across Hong Kong, including the “Hong Kong Tramways 120th Anniversary Pop-up Store at Central Market. From 30 July to 8 September, Central Market will be transformed into a lively tram-themed celebration, with fun activities including family-friendly game booths, like Giant Jenga, available at OASIS. Visitors will also have a chance to snap photos with tramways' ambassador, Ding Ding Cat, who will have a photo hotspot at the first floor entrance, greeting visitors and inviting them to join in the festivities honouring Hong Kong's cherished trams. Furthermore, the FinDING Principal treasure hunt game will invite participants to embark on a fun challenge to find where the Principal is hiding throughout Central Market, for a chance to win various prizes.

Additionally, the pop-up will offer a variety of limited-edition “HK Tramways x McDull” crossover collectibles, including a 1/120 die-cast Tram No.120 tram model, the HK Tramways 120th Anniversary Special Edition Octopus (only 600 sets available globally), commemorative stationery sets, locally crafted glass vacuum flask, and a microwave lunch box in collaboration with another local renowned brand. To complement the celebratory atmosphere, Central Market tenants will also introduce special promotions, such as Hong Kong style limited-edition drinks at Chart Coffee, limited-edition packaging from Mammy Pancake, and unique photo frame designs at the Snapio photo booth. Two Exciting Seasonal Markets - “LOCOLOCO Summer Market and “‘Made-in-HK’ Weekend Market

Central Market has been actively promoting the growth of local brands as part of its mission to cultivate a “Vibrant Marketplace at the Heart of Hong Kong. This summer, from 15-24 July, the “LOCOLOCO Summer Market will be held on the 24-hour passageway on the second floor. Over 20 local brands will showcase summer-themed products, bringing a lively seasonal atmosphere to customers. These specially curated brands invite customers to explore exclusive crafts and handmade designs, making for a unique yet relaxing shopping atmosphere.

Additionally, from 2-4 August, Central Market will collaborate with Hong Kong Tramways and Freeture Concept HK to organise the “‘Made-in-HK' Weekend Market, featuring over 50 local brands, covering a wide range of goods including natural food and beverages, handcrafted accessories, and locally designed apparel, invite customers lost track of time as they savour the fulfilling shopping experience.
“Moves of Central Summer Dance Charity Competition - Calling All of Hong Kong's Dance Superstars to Promote Social Inclusion

In addition to the shopping and celebratory experiences, Central Market is teaming up with Infinity Dance Studio to host the inaugural “Moves of Central'' Summer Dance Charity Competition, tapping into the power of dance to embody Central Market’s core values of being “Approachable”, “Energetic” and “Gregarious” while promoting inclusion and diversity. Open to dancers of all levels, the competition takes place on 28 July (Sun) at OASIS with two renowned judges – Infinity Dance Studio founder Ellis Chow and renowned dance instructor and choreographer Kaki Mok.  The open category winner will receive an HK$8,000 cash prize plus a Nikon Zf camera with a NIKKOR Z 40mm f/2 SE kit worth HK$18,980. Part of the event proceeds will be donated to the LoveXpress Foundation Limited to support their 2025 dance class programming for the autism community.
